tfheen Wed, 24 Aug 2005 - Fake categories in pyblosxom

Jose Carlos Garcia Sogo wonders about how to do pyblosxom meta-categories. Just using the fakecat plugin I wrote about a year ago should work fine, I would think.

tfheen Tue, 23 Aug 2005 - Apartments

Last afternoon, I sold my apartment in Trondheim. Apartments are selling for ridicolous prices, and even after the real estate agent have had his cut and all other expenses are paid, there's a large lump of money left.

It's a bit weird to cut that link to Trondheim, it's not that long since I moved there and now it's over again. It's been a good time, so I'm not complaining, but it still feels weird. I am going to go back and visit friends and so on, though.

Karianne and I had an argument about where to put the furniture and what to do about the kitchen. It's a nice kitchen, but there's not enough horisontal space to work well there. It also has too few cabinets. I think we are mostly in agreement now, and I think we will end up with an even greater kitchen than what we already have.

This weekend, my father and I will be going to Trondheim to pick up the rest of the furniture there, so our flat down here should be a bit more civilised in a week or so. Also trying to spec out a new machine which I will be building, but I'm currently stuck on the graphics card, since I want decent 3d speed, 2xDVI and passive cooling. A few agents have been started, so I hope they come up with something.

tfheen Sat, 20 Aug 2005 - O'hara's celtic stout

So, since Anders has continued blogging about beers, I figured I might try blogging about interesting beers too.

I had a beer I bought in Finland, during a beer-shopping spree Magni and I went on. Some of the beers were ok-ish, but this is absolutely one of the good ones. It's a stout, so it's black. The head was very small, but it smelled good. The dark, sweet (but not overwhelming) smell of a dark beer. A bit of chocolate, but not too much of that either.

The first two or three tastes were when the beer was still a bit too cold, so it lacked a bit in the body, but once it warmed up that corrected itself. Full and nice chocolate/coffee-taste. The carbonation is medium, so neither flat nor tounge-biting.

Unlike some other stouts, this one doesn't feel like it will fill up my stomach, so it's much more like a porter in that regard. (Incidentially, porters and red/brown ales are my favourite kind of beer.)

All in all, a very nice beer and I hope I'll find more of it in the future.

Woke up around 7 as usual today. Hacked on casper the first part of the day, general bug triage the last part. Went out and had some beers with drift@hardware later. Nice evening.

tfheen Wed, 10 Aug 2005 - Busy

Been busy for a long time. Moving again (after having bought an apartment). Started working on Ubuntu, so far tearing my hair out over OpenOffice.org 2 repackaged on AMD64. My office is down with the other people in hardware.no, which is also nice, since I don't have a very good office at home yet.
